Accessibility

Evermont intends this website to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader or magnifier, need larger text, or prefer reduced motion.

This website has been built to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard we are working to. We describe it as a target rather than as certified conformance, because no independent audit has been carried out.

• A skip-to-content link, and semantic landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer.
• One h1 per page and a heading order that does not skip levels.
• Keyboard access to every control, with a visible focus indicator that is never removed.
• A mobile navigation disclosure that reports its state, closes on Escape, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
• Every form field has a visible, associated label; errors are attached to their field, announced politely, and describe the correction needed.
• Autocomplete attributes on name and email fields.
• Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background; brass gold is used for rules and ornament rather than for body text because it does not meet that threshold.
• Interactive targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels.
• Motion limited to a single fade-and-rise, which is switched off entirely when your system requests reduced motion.
• No information conveyed by colour alone: the current page in the navigation is marked by weight and a rule as well as by colour.
• Correct language attributes, including on Chinese and Latin text, so that screen readers pronounce them appropriately.
• Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide, and remains usable at 200% zoom.
• No carousel, no autoplaying media, no background video and no content that moves on its own.

• The site has been assessed by its own build team using automated and manual checks. It has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist, and it has not been tested with a full range of assistive technologies.
• Values controlled by the site's configuration file are inserted by JavaScript. With JavaScript disabled, those places show their written fallback text rather than a live value. No content is hidden as a result.
• Typography uses the fonts installed on your device. Rendering therefore varies between platforms.

Describe what you were trying to do, the page you were on, and the assistive technology or browser you were using if you know it. We will fix what we can and say plainly what we cannot.

We do not promise a response time, because no service level has been established while Evermont is in pre-registration development. Reports are read and acted on.
